This page explains how to delete your Orbyt Social account and the data associated with it. After you confirm, your account enters a 30-day window before permanent deletion — logging back in during that window restores it. Once that window passes, deletion cannot be undone, so consider exporting your data first (see below).
1. How to delete your account
- In the app: open Orbyt and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm.
- By email: if you can’t access the app, email support@orbytsocial.com from your account’s email address and request deletion. We may ask you to verify ownership before processing.
2. Export your data first (optional)
Deletion is irreversible. If you want a copy of your information, request an export from Settings → Account — or email support@orbytsocial.com — before you delete.
3. What gets deleted
Your profile (name, bio, photo), posts, comments, columns, launches, events, direct messages, connections and follows, and uploaded media are permanently deleted.
4. What is retained, and for how long
When you delete your account, your profile becomes invisible to other users within 24 hours, and your associated personal information is deleted within 30 days — except as noted below. This mirrors our Privacy Policy (see Data Retention).
- Reported or removed content: kept in a moderation log for up to 12 months to handle appeals, defend against legal claims, and detect repeat violations.
- Backups and audit logs: may persist for up to 90 days after deletion before being overwritten.
- Legally required records: records we are required to keep (e.g., transaction, tax, and fraud-prevention records) are retained only as long as required by law.
- Aggregated, de-identified analytics: data that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.
5. Subscriptions
Deleting your Orbyt account does not cancel a paid subscription. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play to stop future charges.
